Our Story

Robin Specialist Autism Services was created because families told us something important was missing.
Our roots are in frontline care and real-world autism support shaped by learning directly from autistic individuals, families, and real environments where autism was not seen as a “diagnosis to manage”, but a person to understand.
Over time, it became clear that many services were growing bigger but not always becoming more autism-aligned. Parents wanted something different:

  • A service that truly listens
  • Support built around individual strengths and meaningful outcomes
  • Professionals who work with families, not over them

Robin was created from lived experience, evidence-based practice, and the belief that autistic individuals and families are experts in their own lives. Today, we are CQC registered and working towards autism accreditation, while staying grounded in the values that started it all.

We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission

What Robin Focuses On

At Robin, we focus on:

  • Understanding how the autistic brain learns — not forcing it to learn the “usual” way
  • Listening first: especially to parents and families
  • Outcome-focused support that has real meaning in everyday life
  • Matching people with people skills, personality, and values matter
  • Seeing autism as a difference, not a deficit

Our approach considers the whole person: sensory experience, perception, emotional responses, communication, and cognitive strengths. We use solution-focused support, not blame-focused support.
